So for today;s post I had planned for it to be Christmas Accessories, but I realize now my idea is really similar to yesterday's and tomorrow's blog post. It's a Blogmas Blog Post that is actually going up on it's assigned day, but it will not be about Christmas accessories. Consider it to be a click bait title. Instead here's a short story that I decided to write but involves Christmas Accessories.

The Christmas Accessory
It was the fourteenth of December, and while the winter air was crisp there was no snow to be found. I looked out my window and sighed as sat back into my chair. It was eleven days until Christmas and the weather was far from Christmasy. I glanced over to my Christmas tree and smiled slightly at the thought of having a white Christmas for once... but that would only happen in my dreams as the weather was nowhere near freezing.
I got up and walked back to my room to put on my Christmas attire in hope of feeling the slightest bit festive. I slipped on my black leggings that 90% of my outfits consisted of with a burgundy sweater, my brown fuzzy socks that have the image of a reindeer on them, and of course my favorite Christmas accessory a white beanie with an embroidered snowflake on the band and silver pom pom attached to the top. It was the perfect winter outfit. "I wish it would just snow though" I whispered to myself as I glanced back over my shoulder to the window.
Yes, I was over dressed for sitting indoors, but I longed for the winter days and festive vibes. It might not be winter outside quite yet, but maybe it could be inside. I grabbed my favorite mug and made a batch of hot chocolate as I set up my winter wonderland underneath the tree. It had furry pillows, fuzzy blankets and fairy lights just like every Pinterest set up I had looked at. With my hot chocolate in hand, I sat in my winter set up and watched my favorite Christmas movie.
During the movie, I could feel myself occasionally drifting off into sleep. I decided it was best to pause the movie and take a nap. I leaned into my pillows and dreamed of the winter days I so badly wanted to occur.
I could hear the sound of my phone buzzing on a nearby pillow. I rubbed my hands against my eyelids as I began to wake up. As I yawned and stretched for my phone, I looked up towards the window and saw the most beautiful sight. It was white. It had snowed. I guess that was what all the messages on my phone were about. I sprinted towards my boots and slid them on as fast as I could. I was not going to miss the winter snow.
I smiled and shrugged my shoulders as I was ecstatic to see the snow. I gazed in awe at the sight right outside my door. Snowflakes and snowballs galore. The once green grass was delicately covered in a blanket of snow. I thought for a moment that maybe this was some crazy dream but feeling the hard hit of a snowball against my shoulder confirmed it was not a dream. I tugged at my beanie to secure it and thought "at least my winter wish came true."
