Listening

Sometimes listening is searching quotes on Pinterest and finding a prayer that you’ve been needing and ultimately you sit there crying at your computer at 9:58 p.m.

Yes, I am that person in the scenario I just described. The reason why? I’m lost and I’m trying to find my way. I’ve been a rut so to say. However, after finding three prayers (one of them is the picture above), I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest. The reason? I tend to close myself off.

I don’t want to anymore that’s the thing. With Delight starting back (9/20/2017) and having a more small group setting last night (9/27/2017), I’ve made a couple goals for this semester because of Delight.

I want to be vulnerable.

I want to go in full heartedly.

I want to trust the process.

I want to be more open and trusting.

I want to learn to enjoy the journey.

Five fairly simple tasks. Five tasks that are easier said than done. Five tasks I need and want to work on. Five tasks that will make me a better person. Five tasks that will make me a better follower of Christ. Five tasks that will make me a better version of myself. Five tasks that will bring me closer to God.

Each goal I’ve chosen for different reasons. Each goal I’ve chosen is to help me along my journey.

I know it’s not going to be easy, but I am ready to listen. I realized I’ve closed myself for too long that I have not trusted in Him enough. I need to be vulnerable something I’ve been so scared of. I’ve been afraid to be vulnerable because of caring what others think about me, not being able to trust in Him and scared of getting hurt. However, I know he will always be there for me and I just need to take a deep breath and trust. It won’t be easy, but I’ll work on it.
